Keep things simple by writing a list of your most important contacts. Put it somewhere safe so that it’s easy to get to, for example, next to the phone ready for when you need it. 

Include on your list: 

  • The name of the person 
  • Their phone number & email 
  • Describe how they support you i.e. a family member or carer

People you could include on your list:

  • Family members 
  • Friends 
  • Carers 
  • Community volunteer group 
  • Neighbours
  • Pharmacy 
  • Doctors surgery 

Finally – think about who makes you smile. Now add them to a list of people you can call on when you need cheering up.

How can I help someone to do this?

Give someone a ring and ask them if you can help them create their list. Go through it on the phone, note it down, and post it through their letterbox.
