Send an email to a friend or family member to see how they are and let them know how you’re doing.
If you enjoy emailing, perhaps you could write down a list of people you’d like to catch up with and send a few emails. Giving yourself time to sit down and write provides a way to enjoy the process, and you could send them over a few days.
Don’t have an email account yet? This could be the perfect time to get one! Sites like Gmail provide free email accounts.
How can I help someone to do this?
Send an email to somebody you know who has dementia. If you don’t have their email address, perhaps you could call and ask if they have one first, and then start an email conversation to keep checking in on each other during social distancing.
If they don’t know how to use email, search online for simple instructions on getting started. You could either email a link, or print the instructions and send them in the post.
