Singing is an uplifting activity which can help to boost mood and happiness. Anyway, who doesn’t love a bit of a sing along?
Luminate (Scotland’s creative ageing organisation) has worked with award-winning musician Karine Polwart, and choirs and song leaders around Scotland to create a singing experience for people living with dementia and their family, friends and carers.
The ‘Travel These Ways’ collection of songs and medleys is accompanied by song words, noted music, and films of musicians to guide you through. Resources are available online, or in printed format with DVD or CD.
How can I help someone to do this?
You could share the materials from the attached link, either virtually or by requesting the printed version with DVD or CD. Maybe you could encourage other relatives and friends to get involved and join in a virtual sing along.
