If you are living with dementia, keeping regular contact with others is a great way to stay safe and well.

Text messages are a quick and easy way to check in with others. Set yourself a regular plan for texting people – for example, daily or weekly – and keep in touch at the press of a button.

How can I help someone to do this?

Text someone you know who is self-isolating and see how they’re doing.

If you know someone who would benefit from this but doesn’t know how to text, ask them for the make and model of their phone and Google text messaging instructions. Print them off and drop them through their letterbox or send them in the post.
